To all 2017 Graduates,
I know this is a letter, but go ahead and get your Bible out. Please read Ephesians 2:1-10.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” v.10
God truly does have great plans for our lives. He’s brought you this far; never doubt He won’t bring you so much farther!
Never forget the One Who saved you from yourself, even while you were still acting in your old self. If you’re a Christian, these verses tell your story. Though once we were sinful and dead, now we are forgiven, changed and alive! Never forget the amazing mercy and grace God has given us through His Son!
God saved you. He provided you with the faith to trust Him. Never stop trusting He will continue to provide for and help you as long as you long to follow Him!
And He has a plan for you, His masterpiece. You were created for a purpose. Right now, only God knows the full extent of that purpose, but know that it exists! Your path will be unique; no one else has ever lived your life! God made you purposefully and precisely the way you are in order to best fulfill His purpose He gave to you. You were made to do good God has already planned for you. Never question His will and calling for you; He knows what He’s doing!
And finally, always be in God—in prayer, in your attitude, in praise, in the Spirit, and in your life. He will continue to help and guide you. I don’t know every one of your circumstances and situations, but the Lord does. Our Father will take care of His children.
What a beautiful Savior we have! Seek Him, and He will let you find Him. Never give up the search for more of Him! There will be times to rest from other things, but never rest from God. It is because of His great love for us we have been saved by our merciful Lord! He’s the only One you need!
Like I said, I don’t know you. I don’t know how long or hard or fun or fast or rough or smooth these years have been for you. I don’t know the places you’ve messed up and the things you wish you had never done. But I do know my Lord, Jesus Christ. If you know Him too, He is with you. He still loves you. He longs for you to be totally His. He fixes you. And He promises to take care of everything else in His perfect way! You know it’s going to be tough, but you also know that with Him it is going to be okay. Even more, it’s going to be good! “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”—Romans 8:28.
So pray to your good, good Father and truest Friend and thank Him for all the ways He’s blessed you, helped you, saved you, guided you, and shown Himself to you over the years. Thank Him for everything. And thank Him that He will be with you, still blessing you, helping you, saving you, guiding you and revealing Himself to you in the future, no matter what!
